When Christ Gave Blood

give bloodIt’s good for one person to give blood for another; but I’m especially glad Christ gave his blood for me.

According to the Red Cross, when we give blood, we make physical life possible for others.  When Christ gave his blood, he made it possible for us to have eternal life.  I Peter 1:18-19 ~ “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversationreceived by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:”

According to the Red Cross, when we give blood we help as many as three other people.  Christ’s blood has the power to help all who will obey.  Hebrews 2:9 ~ “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.”

According to the Red Cross, every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood.  There’s not a second that goes by that we do not need Christ’s blood. Hebrews 9:22 ~ “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.”
